Tithing is a divine principle and spiritual law that transcends a mere action or activity. It is more than an act of giving and represents an expression of God’s ownership and Lordship in and over all things created. It is a portion or space reserved for Him and Him alone. He permits us use of His resources but only as stewards or managers not owners, always remembering that wealth is for His consumption. It is a law of ‘Predictable Returns’ on investment in His Kingdom activities and affairs. Such is its demand for compliance and application that a curse is declared upon willful defiance of fulfilling its requirements. It an equivocation of a ‘Kingdom Tax’ as a reminder of our true citizenship.
